Wyoming Quilt Shop Hop for 2018 will begin May 29 and last all summer, closing September 4, 2018. You can download a passport from the home page of our website or pick one up at any participating quilt shop. Make sure to get your passport validated at each shop, then send it in to qualify for chances at wonderful prizes. Everyone who visits all the shops will get a prize this year, plus all who visit at least 13 shops will qualify for the drawing for the Grand Prize, a sewing machine, plus other fun and valuable quilting and sewing items. Every shop will have a block pattern for you – why not chose several, if not all, and make a sampler quilt? It is going to be a busy summer – so get your plans made to start shop hopping on May 29. There are 26 participating stores to visit all over the state. We hope to see you soon!
I know you are all excited to hear who won the drawing for the Wyoming Shop Hop prizes for 2017. I have called the first and second prize winners, but the rest of the list will get a surprise package in the mail sometime soon! If your name is on the list, Congratulations! We had 77 passports returned. 12 shoppers had visited all 26 shops. We are awarding 26 prizes, plus each of the 26 shops are awarding a $50 value prize. As the cooler days of autumn arrive, shop-hopping in Wyoming is over. I hope you all had a lovely time visiting many if not all of the shops on the Wyoming Quilt Shop Hop trail this summer. We are receiving lots of completed passports in the mail every day, and I want to remind and encourage all participants to get your passport sent in today if you have not already! It would be so sad to miss out on the chance to win such great prizes just because you failed to get your passport sent in time. If you have any questions, call Lickety Stitch Quilts during business hours at 307-334-9963. The shops are doing their individual drawings for prizes now and will be notifying each winner soon. I plan to post the winners if I can get that information from all the participating shops as soon as possible.
How was your shop hopping experience? Do you have any suggestions for changes for next year’s shop hop? Thanks to each person who took the time to visit any of the participating shops this past summer, and please visit again soon.
Sandie Swanson from Kalico Kat Quilt Shop in Casper has donated a kit for this beautiful winter wildlife scene. The kit includes the fabric to create a 44″ x 56″ quilt top. Thank you, Sandie, for your beautiful kit. The winner of this will be a very lucky quilter! Drawing for this and all other prizes will take place after the Wyoming Shop Hop is finished in approximately 1 month. We have already received 2 entries from shop hoppers who have completed their state-wide shop hop! Get to hopping, quilters – and don’t forget to submit your completed passport for a chance to win great prizes!
No one in Wyoming will be untouched by the 2017 Solar Eclipse occurring on August 21. The cities, towns and countryside within the path of totality expect an influx of hoards seeking to experience the rare phenomenon. The Prairie Stitcher in Douglas has these cute jackalope T-Shirts and a quilt available for those who would like to commemorate the experience.
